This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies the Site (krong.academy) and Sen (sen.krong.academy) use, why, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy and should be read alongside it. Where the two overlap on how we handle personal data collected through cookies, the Privacy Policy governs.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember information between visits or between page loads. Some are essential to how a site works. Others help us understand how the Site is used.
What we use
- Essential cookies. Needed for the Site and checkout to work: for example, remembering your order, keeping you signed in, and basic security and anti-fraud protection. They are set by systeme.io (our site and checkout platform), by Stripe at checkout, and by Clerk when you sign in to Sen. They cannot be switched off through the banner in Section 4, because the Site and checkout would not work without them.
- Your cookie choice. We store your banner choice in your browser’s local storage (key krong_cookie_consent) so we do not ask you on every visit.
- Analytics cookies. We use Google Tag Manager (container GTM-NFMHMXR7) to load Google Analytics (GA4, property G-T5ZXDS27GE). It sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to help us understand how visitors use the Site: which pages get read, where visitors drop off, and which traffic sources bring people to us. We use this in aggregate and do not use it to build individual profiles of visitors for marketing. Analytics runs on krong.academy only. Sen has no analytics.
- Marketing and ad-tracking cookies. None are in use. If we add ad-tracking pixels in future (for example, a LinkedIn or Meta pixel), this section will be updated to name them, and they will be a separate optional category in the banner, never on by default.
- Local storage in Sen. Sen saves your project work, theme and settings in your browser’s local storage so your work is still there when you return. This is your own data. It is not tracking, and it never leaves your device unless you export it. If you use the optional Ask AI feature and choose to remember your own AI key, that key is also kept in your browser’s local storage on this device and is never sent to us.
Fonts and code libraries. The Site and Sen load typefaces from Google Fonts, and Sen loads code libraries from jsDelivr. When a page loads, your browser contacts those services and they can see your IP address and browser details. This happens without cookies and is needed to display the page, so it is not behind the banner. Their own privacy policies apply.
Legal basis: consent, not assumption
Essential cookies apply automatically because the Site cannot work without them. Non-essential cookies (currently only analytics) load only after you actively accept them in the banner. This applies wherever you are visiting from. It is a requirement, not just a courtesy, for two groups we know we get real traffic from: if you are in the European Union or UK, GDPR requires this opt-in-first approach for anything beyond strictly necessary cookies; if you are in South Africa, POPIA requires your consent before we process your personal information for purposes like this, and analytics cookies fall under that requirement too.
The consent banner: how it works
On your first visit to a page that uses optional cookies, a banner lets you Accept all, Reject all non-essential cookies, or open cookie settings to choose by category (essential cookies stay on either way, since the Site needs them). Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics do not load, and set no cookies, until you accept. Declining does not block or degrade the Site, checkout or Sen in any way. Pages that load no optional cookies, such as the policy pages, do not show the banner. Your choice is remembered on this device. You can change it at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of the main pages.
US visitors
If you are a resident of a US state with its own privacy law (such as California’s CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, including the use of analytics or advertising cookies for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell or share personal data as those terms are defined under such laws. As Section 4 explains, analytics cookies fire only after you actively opt in, wherever you are visiting from.
Controlling cookies through your browser
Separately from the banner, most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, and you can set your browser to tell you when a cookie is set. Blocking essential cookies through your browser (rather than declining through our banner) may stop parts of the Site, especially checkout and Sen sign-in, from working correctly.
Third-party cookies
Cookies set by Google (Tag Manager and Analytics) are governed by Google’s own privacy policy, not this one: see policies.google.com/privacy. We do not control how third parties use data collected through their own cookies beyond the purpose we have configured them for (aggregate Site analytics).
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we add a new analytics or marketing tool. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date, and any new non-essential cookie category will still need your active acceptance before it loads, as Section 4 says.
